POULENC Les biches Suite
PROKOFIEV Violin Concerto No. 1
RACHMANINOFF Symphonic Dances

Stéphane Denève leads a concert of “desert island” music. Rachmaninoff’s final orchestral work celebrates a life well-lived with joyful dances, heartbreaking melodies and orchestral brilliance. Poulenc’s ballet fizzes like popped champagne, while Karen Gomyo, an “artist of rare command, brilliance and intensity,” (Chicago Tribune) breathes pure musical sunlight into Prokofiev’s concerto.
