Experience the thrill of the game as we team up with former All-Star St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright, who performs songs from his new country album. The evening features Americana classics and a special rendition of the poem “Casey at Bat” that conveys all the drama of America’s favorite pastime.
A few things to know:
- During Adam Wainwright’s 18-year career with the St. Louis Cardinals he earned a reputation for his clutch performances, notably in the team’s 2006 and 2011 World Series wins. Wainwright and longtime teammate Yadier Molina are the most successful pitching and catching duo in Major League history, having both the most wins and starts together.
- One of the best-known poems in American literature, "Casey at the Bat" was written by Ernest Lawrence Thayer in 1888. In it, the hopes of the “Mudville nine” and all their fans rest on the mighty and confident Casey as he steps up to the plate. But will he score?
